A great visit to Egypt

Egypt is a country that bewitches and enchants with its architectural monuments erected thousands of years ago. Even the ancient Greeks and Romans came here to relax and have fun, and to visit these unforgettable architectural creations. But that’s not all! Life is in full swing here day and night.

Visit Egypt and you will find out why emperors and empresses, kings and queens preferred it for millennia! You can relax here all year round. In winter, the water temperature does not drop below 20-22 degrees, and the air temperature is 22-25.

In summer, the air temperature reaches 40 degrees, and the water temperature is 28-30. The climate in Egypt is exceptionally dry, with a light sea breeze making it pleasant to stay on the beach even during the hot summer months.

Sharm el sheikh

Bay of Sheikhs – this is how Sharm El Sheikh sounds in Arabic. It is the most prestigious seaside resort in Egypt, located on the edge of the Sinai Peninsula, at the junction of continents, between Africa and Asia.

On the beaches at the hotels, you can also see extraordinary fish and colorful corals. We can say that the entire tourism industry here is subordinated to one great pleasure – scuba diving: local shops are overflowing with special equipment, sportswear, and various accessories useful and necessary for professional and novice divers.

About two dozen diving centers offer everything you need for diving enthusiasts. For those who are not interested in diving, there are many other entertainments in Sharm el-Sheikh: motorcycle and jeep safari, tennis courts, horse clubs, mini golf clubs, windsurfing, parasailing, jet skis, and exciting excursions.

Hurghada

Hurghada is ideal for families with children. The sun shines here all year round, with endless sandy beaches against the backdrop of desert mountains, excellent opportunities for surfing and scuba diving. More than two hundred modern hotels have been built on the coast of Hurghada.

Almost all famous hotel chains are represented here – Hilton, Marriott, Sheraton, Intercontinental and many others. Despite this, new hotels and hotel complexes continue to be built and improved. Almost all hotels are family-friendly.

It gets dark here early, but this does not affect the life of the resort in any way – many discos, restaurants, cafes, casinos are waiting for night visitors. You can visit the legendary Thousand and One Nights Palace, where theatrical performances are held every evening on the theme of life in Egypt during the era of the pharaohs.

Taba

Taba is a small town located on the border between Egypt and Israel. Wonderful views of mountains, lagoons, canyons, and gorgeous beaches – this is Taba. There are luxury hotels here, offering their guests a wide variety of services for a great holiday.

You can enjoy the view of the multi-colored granite mountains, bordered by a strip of sandy beaches and green oases of hotels, taste fresh sea fish, visit the Pharaonic Island, where the Crusader fortress Salah El-Din, built in the 12th century, has been preserved. There is also a coral reef, which is the most popular diving site among divers.

In the evening, in just a few minutes, the boat will take you to the island, where you can enjoy a sound and light show and look at the evening lights of Jordan across the bay.

Marsa Alam

Marsa Alam is one of the youngest and fastest-growing resorts in Egypt. It is located on the wonderful coral coast of the Red Sea, 270 km south of Hurghada. Many tourists from all over the world are attracted by favourable weather in any season, very clean and warm water, a variety of flora and fauna of the coral reefs of this resort.

Do not forget about the historical value of the area where Marsa Alam is located.

Having covered about 200 km, lovers of antiquity will discover dozens of monuments of the history of Ancient Egypt. Such as the Abu Simbel temple complex and the majestic Luxor – the capital of the Upper Kingdom. 145 kilometres to the south, in the desert, is the Tomb of Sayad ash-Shazli, who was a great Sufi ruler in the 13th century.

His tomb was rebuilt at the beginning of the 20th century. But do not go there without a guide or a good map, as you will never be able to find it.

The high-quality service and comfort of Marsa Alam hotels will please you.  The calm, cosy atmosphere of a remote city will save you from the hustle and bustle. Adherents of active recreation are always glad to see diving clubs, where there are exciting programs for experienced and beginners.

Clearwater, old sunken ships, turtles, crocodile fish, sleeping sharks, lionfish, parrotfish and butterflyfish. It is impossible to describe all the temptations that lie in wait for you in the underwater world of this resort town. Only corals are worth something, spherical and tree-like, soft and hard. It will also be interesting for those who like windsurfing and yachting.

What else to see in Egypt

The centuries-old history of Egypt shines through in every stone, ledge, a monument of its ancient cities. The hot breath of the desert blows over the ancient pyramids, through the ruins of ancient temples, places of worship and sphinxes that guard the peace of their ancestors.

Pyramids

Almost every tourist who comes to Egypt considers it his duty to see the grandiose pyramids. The most massive is the Cheops pyramid in Giza, which is 137 meters high. The main mystery of the Sphinx has not yet been solved: there is a version that this is the face of Pharaoh Cheops, another says that this is the god Horus, watching the sunrise, or the god Ra.

Cairo

A huge city, the capital of Egypt is crammed with ancient monuments. It is better to start your acquaintance with them by climbing the citadel of Saladin, from where you can see the whole city.

Nearby are the Muhammad Ali Mosque and the Sultan Kalawn Mosque with lace minarets. The aqueduct, the building of the oldest Arab university Al-Azar, is striking in its impressive size. A separate day should be set aside for visiting the largest bazaar in the East – Khan el-Khalili.

Luxor

It is impossible to capture all the beauties of Luxor, an ancient open-air museum city, in one day. Several millennia ago, Thebes, the capital of Ancient Egypt, was rustling on this place.

The exhibits from the collection of the Luxor Museum and amazing architectural structures remind of it: the Luxor Temple and the two-kilometre Alley of Sphinxes leading to it, the Karnak Temple; in the vicinity is the “City of the Dead”, where you can see two huge statues of the pharaoh – the colossi of Memnon, the temple of Hatshepsut. Inside the ancient Egyptian temple of Luxor, dedicated to the god Amon Ra, the Muslim mosque of Abu-l-Haggag is built.

Alexandria

Alexandria was founded by Alexander the Great and during the rule of the Greeks in these places was the Greek centre of Egypt. Although the city was owned by various states for its more than 2000-year history, quite a few monuments of Greek culture have survived, including the mausoleum of Alexander the Great.

Once upon a time, there was the Alexandria (Pharos) lighthouse – one of the seven ancient wonders of the world. It collapsed as a result of earthquakes, and on its ruins in the 15th century. built the fortress of Kite Bay.

Now you can see the Maritime Museum, the Sultan’s throne and even the remains of the columns of that same lighthouse, and the local opera house triples concerts in the garden inside the fortress. An example of Arab architecture is the Abu el-Abbas mosque, which amazes with its luxurious interior decoration.

Port Said

Port Said is 200 km to the north, the National Museum of which houses exhibits of pre-Pharaonic culture. It was in this city that the statue, which is now the symbol of the United States, should have stood – the Statue of Liberty. It was originally called the “Light of Asia”. The Egyptian government spared money for the transportation of the heavy monument, and all the glory went to America.

Natural attractions

The Sinai Peninsula is famous for its Colorful Canyon, which is surrounded by hot springs. You can go with crowds of pilgrims to the holy place, Mount Moses, to the top of which, right to the chapel of the Holy Trinity, 3750 steps lead. On the way back there is an opportunity to look into the monastery of St. Catherine, the oldest in the Christian world.

In the Sahara Desert, you can stumble upon picturesque oases. For example, Bahariya originated in a place where hot springs flow. This oasis is also called the Valley of Mummies: mummies dating back to 1800 years were found in the local necropolis. The Kharga oasis became popular thanks to the ruins of the temple of Amun and Mut, the El-Baghavat necropolis, the Ibis temple, and the artesian spring “Baths of Aphrodite” found there.

Egypt is famous not only for its beaches and the richest underwater world, year-round sunny summer and inexpensive quality hotels, but also for a huge number of attractions throughout the country. It is here that the monuments of different eras and civilizations are concentrated, which every traveler should see.
