The launch of a rocket into space is an amazing sight to behold. However, getting to see a launch can be tricky since most people don’t have access to NASA or Cape Canaveral Air Force Station. Luckily, there are several places around the Space Coast where you can watch rockets take off from the ground!

Kennedy Space Center

The Kennedy Space Center is one of the most famous attractions in Florida. It’s also a great place to watch launches, with several different viewing options.

If you’re not in a position to get down to see launch pads and/or if they don’t allow visitors at that point, there are other ways to get an up-close look at the action. The visitor complex features exhibits on human spaceflight and rocketry, so you can learn about how things work before watching them happen! From there, you can go outside by entering Launch Complex 39 Observation Gantry or heading up onto Saturn V Rocket Plaza (which has amazing views!). If those spots fill up fast enough for your liking though—and we think they will—don’t worry: there are plenty more viewing areas nearby!

Cape Canaveral Air Force Station

The Cape Canaveral Air Force Station is located in Brevard County, Florida. It’s a launch site used by NASA as well as private space companies. You can visit the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station and watch launches from there!

Jetty Beach Park

If you’re looking for a space-related spot with easy access and plenty of parking, Jetty Beach Park is the place to be. Located in Cape Canaveral (about an hour south of Orlando), this beautiful beach park offers plenty of amenities including picnic tables, restrooms, and a variety of food options. While there are no official public viewing areas for launchings at Jetty Beach Park itself since it’s located so close to the Air Force station where launches happen it makes sense that lots of people watch from here anyway—and many even bring their own chairs or blankets!

Titusville

If you’re in the area, it’s worth stopping by Titusville. It’s the closest town to the launch site and is home to several attractions that are worth seeing if you get a chance. The best place to watch a launch is at Jetty Beach Park, located on the northern side of Cape Canaveral Air Force Station. There, you can see giant rockets launching into space from just yards away from where they’re launched! If you’d rather be up close but still have some distance between yourself and the action, there are other places where large crowds gather for launches: Tropical Breeze Park provides clear views over Barge Canal; Port Canaveral offers unobstructed views across Banana River Lagoon; Patrick Air Force Base offers direct access to Launch Complex 46 (for Atlas V launches) as well as Launch Complexes 8-10 (for Delta IVs); Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex offers miles upon miles of space viewing opportunities throughout Titusville, including an amphitheater with live commentary during launches

Patrick Air Force Base Beach

If you’re going to visit Patrick Air Force Base Beach, be sure to get there early. The parking lot fills up fast and the crowds can get pretty thick. You may also want to bring a pair of binoculars.

The beach is located just a few miles east of Kennedy Space Center, so it’s easy to stop in for a launch if you’re visiting that area too. While the beach may not have any official facilities such as bathrooms or shelters, there are plenty of places nearby where you can go for lunch or dinner before heading back out again:
