Vacation Plans, Anywhere But Here
You have had that feeling at least once a week. I wish that I was anywhere, but here. That feeling could come at work or worst at home. That feeling tells you more than anything else that you are ready for a vacation. It is time to get away. If you are lucky you have planned for this moment and can make a break for the border.
If you have not planned your first real vacation then it is time to get started. Ask yourself a few important questions.
1, Can I afford to travel?
You would be surprised, but the answer is almost always yes. You will just need to define the term travel. If travel means Europe or Asia then the answer may come back no, but if it is a more general question of traveling then the answer is almost always yes.
Travel can be getting into the car and driving toward the sticks. It could be going to that train station that you visit everyday to go to work and buying a ticket that will take you a dozen or so stops farther along the route. No matter where that route ends they are ready and waiting for tourist. They have interesting activates waiting for you to engage in. Perhaps you live in a big city and have never taken advantage of the fact that thousands if not millions of people look upon your home town as a vacation spot. My first vacation was to historical sites in and around my home of Philadelphia. Leaving home behind to book a hotel room made it feel like a real vacation.
2. Can I find the time to take a vacation?
Most jobs allow you two weeks a year. If you do not have one such job you can always take one of those three day holiday weekends. Three days does not sound like a long time, but when you are near burn out those three days away will seem like months.
3. I do not know where to go on a vacation.
I would not suggest friends or family unless you have not seen them in a long time and if it would recharge your batteries. Other wise I would suggest a getaway vacation. Pick some place where you can perhaps do something that you like. If you like running or hiking or bike riding and obviously if you ski. Pick a destination where this is possible.
4. I do not know how to plan a vacation.
The easiest part. There are an endless number of services that can do this for you. There are a number of online resources along with the standard travel agencies. Booking a trip is not that difficult. If your trip is local you can do it all yourself. Just be careful when you book yourself. There are a lot of hidden charges out there. Hotels have become like airlines. Bottle water can reach near double digits in price. There are fees on top of fees and these fees are subject to taxes as well so be careful guys if you DIY your vacation.
Okay that is it for today. I would suggest that you try some trial offers while you are figuring out where to go. Many hotels and resorts will send you information packages about their locals for free. Please bookmark us and share this post with a friend.
