Vacation Or Storm?
Every other week it seems as if another massive storm is hitting the east coast. Some days you turn on the news and it feels as if you are in the middle of a network tv disaster movie.
Services are going to be shut down.
Power is going to be out for days or maybe a week.
There will be flooding.
You hear it so much that you begin to think that it is all some sort of a joke until it actually happens and you and your family are in the middle of it.
You do not have to be.
This is not a hundred years ago where you had to sit and ride out the storm. You can get away and weather it out in comfort.
You can be hundreds or even thousands of miles away. That is why they call it a get away. You are getting away from something. Could be the weather. Could be the job. Could be the pressure of every day life.
To do this all you have to do is to make a few plans and take off.
You could go for a warm weather trip or a cruise or an adventure.
It is really up to you. Decide on doing it first and then pick a target.
Once the target of your trip has been selected you will need to pick your mode of travel. Will you drive or take a bus, train or plane? Planning a vacation is a process. You will have created a sort of mental check down list before you go. If you live with others this will make it easier. That is if all of you are not going at the same time. If not you will need to think about what you are going to do about your home or apartment while you are away.
I would not leave my home in the care of teenagers or distant relatives. If you want to know what is the worst that can happen see the movie Project X. These are things to consider before taking off. We will touch upon these things at a later time.
Okay, good luck with your travel plans and please take a moment to share this post with a friend.
