“An amazing visit to Qatar”
Some people say that for you to be able to see greatness, you have to step out of your comfort zone. Learning new culture in different places around the world is good for your heart and mind. As a person who loves to travel, the purpose is to enjoy, learn, and relax. You never believe but you can get it by visiting to this amazing country.
A traveler that loves to see the amazing views, architectural buildings, and wants to explore different culture might find a hard time to leave this country. As soon as you landed you’ll see a stunning modern buildings, wide roads, and a beautiful view from their Bay.
Qatar is located at the peninsular Arab country in the Persian Gulf and Doha is the declared as the capital of it.
The country has roughly 2.5million in population while Doha has roughly 950,000. One of the reasons why it felt so amazing in this country is, there is no challenge communicating as 85% of the people that live in Doha is tourists and workers from other countries and 15% is their local people.
The locals are extremely nice and well educated, the approach to their tourists is one of a kind.
If you are a traveler that loves to unwind and you want to free yourself from stress at work then I highly suggest you visit Qatar.
There are a lot of hotels that ranges from QAR 112-430 and offers such a captivating views. Isn’t it a great start to free and relax your mind? The best time to visit Qatar is by months of November-March with an average temperature ranging between 21C-26C.
As soon as you walk outside, you can smell the fresh air as the pollution there is prohibited. You can see and feel the respect especially if you’re a woman; you will feel very safe. And as you walk and transfer from one place to another, you’ll notice a drinking-water sink and that’s for free! Not only that, they have a mobile atm machine for your convenience. The technology in this country is super advanced and it’s incredible.
Doha Qatar is known for their architecturally stunning museums, mosques, and modern buildings. The Islamic Art Museum or they call it MIA is located at the southern end of Doha Bay. Once you’re inside, you’ll see a beautiful masterpiece of Islamic art. It highlights the cultural vision of the Qatar and it has a huge window that overlooks the Bay. It’s amazing!
Outside of the museum you can see a wide green area of the park and people often come there in the weekends to sell homemade products from different countries around the world. Another park is the Aspire Park, where lot of families have their family bonding there every weekend. You’ll see children playing, running, and enjoying the area.
Having said the stunning view of the museum, the MIA park Café offers a relaxing dining area. It is an open restaurant where you can enjoy the comfort food while appreciating a spectacular view of the Bay.
The coffee shop opens by 4pm-11pm and located at the atrium of the Museum. It offers a wide variety of food from their menus, from hot and cold beverages, appetizers up to their main menu. One thing that you’ll love about is they are offering gluten/ dairy-free selections.
The next place that you want to visit and enjoy while you are in Qatar is the Souq Waqif. It’s an authentic marketplace and have a various of Shops and Restaurants. There you can find souvenirs, pretty scarfs, dresses, and some herbs and spices you can buy. One of my favorite store to visit there is the Qatari sweets which you can buy fresh-made desserts.
Exploring Souq Waqif is very satisfying as the place is like a huge marketplace of Doha, Qatar. If you love shopping and collecting souvenirs then this is the perfect place for you! You will also notice here the architectural design in building this place was really captivating.
The Bandar Aden Restaurant offers their mouthwatering Grilled Chicken with Mandi Rice.
Before leaving the place, visit the Al Aker Sweets and have the best Kunafa in Doha Qatar. Kunafa or Kunafeh is the traditional middle eastern dessert made from shredded pastries and has a sweet cheese filling inside with sugary in taste.
What the most people like about traveling is not just about the luxurious place nor by having a good accommodation but for the beverages and food that they offer. Visiting Qatar makes you have a sudden mindset that you’re always hungry! Restaurants are just everywhere!
When we were traveling Qatar, I was keen to understand that many people love Mediterranean Cuisine. And if you’re wondering what the cost of living and buying some local food is expensive, You’re incorrect.
You can only have a QAR100.00 worth to taste the best cuisine they offer. Yes, that’s right! Let me enlist to you the Café that you want to visit while in Doha, Qatar.
Our visit as a traveler would not be complete without an instagrammable photo that we post during the stay. Cue Café is perfect for this, it has a beautiful cotton candy-colored dining area that you can have take pictures like a pro! It is located at the Qanat, Quartier- The Pearl and opens by 10am-10pm.
They mainly offer brunch dishes and if you’re a coffee lover, you will love this place so much! You can have their coconut latté for only QAR28.00.
Next Restaurant that you must visit is the Habeeb (a Turkish restaurant) Where they can offer the delicious blend of Hummus. It is located at Al Matar Al Qadeem st. and opens by 9am-4am. The blend of the chickpeas, spices, and olive oil is perfect! You can get it for only QAR25.00
One dish that I love about Mediterranean Cuisine is the Biryani Rice. Without the Biryani, the meal is not complete! And if you’re like most people who love Rice, this one’s for you! Visit Mr. Broast BBQ restaurant (Indian restaurant) located at the Old airport area. They serve a delightful and mouth-watering Chicken Biryani for only QAR22.00. They serve from 10am-12am.
To finish the Restaurant hopping, you can buy their traditional Kunafa at Al Khayyam Café for only QAR12.00, located also at Al Matar Al Qadeem st. and serves 24hours. I mentioned another Café at Souq Waqif that you can buy Kunafa, but you may choose either one of the Restaurant. Kunafa dessert is very famous in Qatar and you can find it anywhere.
The visit would not be complete without you visiting The Pearl. This can be your favorite area in Qatar! It has marinas or boats everywhere that you can rent and enjoy the water taxi for QAR25.00 per person. It’s also the place where people can just walk or jog. A lot of restaurants too!
Qatar is also known for water sports as a peninsula surrounded by the Arabian sea and having beautiful weather, It’s a perfect location if you love the water. You can do some activities like jet-skiing, diving, kite-surfing, kayaking, and more.
And if you’re wondering where is the desert? It’s off the town center in Doha. It’s called the Sealine Desert. Enjoy watching the slow sunrise in the desert and experience driving desert safari or even ride a camel!
We enjoy sitting and chilling in front of the Sealine Beach while having our shawarma. You’ll notice that the most people in Doha are really 85% tourists and rarely see some locals. However, the community of foreigners is incredibly amazing. Everyone is just enjoying and playing at the beach with smiles in their faces.
The overall experience in Qatar was just an amazing and spectacular! Just a reminder to take note of the important things when you’re there. Littering is prohibited, they maintain the cleanliness and the beauty of the place. Follow the rules.
Women are not allowed to wear bikinis at the beach. You will notice that ladies in Qatar are respected and they dress properly. Ladies can swim at the beach with their clothes on.
The best time to visit Qatar again is by November- March. However, if you visit for water sports and other water activities, you may visit during the months of summer which is by May-July. Doha, Qatar is not as huge city. However, you don’t have to worry that you might miss out, there are Uber around the city that will guide you to your next destination.
It was a short yet a memorable visit. Sitting in a beautiful view of the Qatar Bay while having brunch is still my favorite! I still can’t forget how beautiful the Muslim Islamic Art and the huge window inside with a spectacular view of the Bay. How satisfying trying a different cuisine and how amazing watching other people’s smile on their faces.
This will not end my travel story and sharing with you the information that I’ve got that you may use when you plan to visit Qatar. I would definitely give myself a break with the stress and come back to this place!
